Zeiss DTI 3/35 GEN 2 Thermal Imaging Camera are the next step up in the DTI series, and replace the original DTI 3/35. The sensor remains the 384x288 but the pixel pitch is 17 µm instead of 12 µm, so it is more sensitive than the DTI 1 models. The display improves to a 1024x768 AMOLED display for improved contrast and color fidelity resulting in a sharper, clearer image. Four new color modes were added increasing the total to eight for all DTI models.
The DTI 3/35 Gen 2 has an optical magnification of 2.4x and 4x digital zoom that goes from 2.4x to 9.6x in .5x steps. The field of view is 560' at 1000 yards.
The DTI 3/35 Gen 2 has a built-in Lithium-ion battery that has a 8 hour life per charge, which is done by USB cable. The USB connection can also be used to download photos and videos or run off of an external power supply. Internal memory is 32 GB. The DTI 3/35 G2 is also 2.4 GHz WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n capable and can provide streaming images to cell phones with the Zeiss Hunting app installed.
New features include:
- Movement Alert a flashing LED tells you when the hottest heat sources move.
- Compass Overlay take compass bearings through the monocular.
- Fog Mode improves visibility through humid environments.
- LED Indicator Light signals on/off, standby, and battery status.
- Shortcuts control features with specific button combinations.
- Control Settings via App allows using the Zeiss Hunting App to control settings
- Smart Standby Automatically turns off the device when not in use to save battery.
- Auto Off Set time to turn off automatically.
ZEISS grants a minimum warranty period of two years from the date of purchase for the ZEISS DTI 3/25 and 3/35 Thermal Imaging Camera. The DTI 3/25 and 3/35 are also eligible to have the warranty extended by one year, for a total of three years, if the buyer registers the product via ZEISS Online Registration within four weeks of the purchase date.
