Zeiss DTI 4/50 Thermal Imaging Camera have the longest detection range, 2881 yards, of any of the current DTI models. This is thanks to its 50mm f/1.0 objective lens and the 640x512 pixel sensor with 12µm pixel pitch and <25mK sensitivity, all of which also yields higher resolution and increased viewing due to less pixelation.

The 4x digital zoom enlarges the base magnification of 2.9x up to 11.6x in 0.5x steps. The angular FOV is 9° x 7°

The DTI 4/50 has a built-in Lithium-ion battery that has a 7 hour life per charge, which is done by USB cable. The USB connection can also be used to download photos and videos or run off of an external power supply. Internal memory is 32 GB. The DTI 3/35 G2 is also 2.4 GHz WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n capable and can provide streaming images to cell phones with the Zeiss Hunting app installed.

Zeiss Smart Image Processing

Thermal images are typically dark and have difficulty separating warm temperatures from cool ones, resulting in a low contrast image. You can see this in the "Undesired Image" below. The Zeiss Smart Image Processing (ZSIP) software optimizes the thermal image to improve contrast and distinguishable detail into a "Desired Image".

Color Mode Comparison

All DTI models now have eight available color modes which can be chosen via the menu. Each color mode has advantages over the others, some in contrast, some in lowering eye fatigue, and some in finding the thing you're looking for.

Resolution and Contrast Comparison DTI 3/35 G2 vs. DTI 4/35

The DTI 4/35 has a larger sensor (640x512 vs. 384x288) and a finer pixel pitch (12µm vs. 17µm). The photos below show the difference.
