The Pulsar Axion 2 LRF XQ35 Pro Thermal Monocular Rangefinder takes the standard Gen 2 XQ35 Pro and adds a laser rangefinder on the side. The laser rangefinder has a maximum range of 1100 yards on reflective targets. Both the viewing/recording function and the rangefinding function can be used in any lighting conditions, day or night.

The thermal viewing function of the Axion 2 XQ35 Pro Thermal Monoculars has an upgraded 384x288 microbolometer sensor. With the new sensor, it gains a thermal sensitivity of <25mK NETD and can detect infrared heat from as far as 1400 yards with excellent image quality presented on a 640x400 AMOLED display.

The Axion 2 XQ35 has a digital 4x zoom starting at 2x magnification and going to 8x. Photo and video recording is built-in with 16GB of memory card storage or can be downloaded or shared via WiFi and streamed using the Stream Vision 2 app. These features allow you to upgrade firmware, save files to your computer, and use a smartphone or tablet to share your view in real time.

The Axion 2 XQ35 Pro is easy to carry around, as it only weighs 12.34 ounces. Its reinforced magnesium alloy body is IPX7 waterproof and has an operating temperature range of -13°F to 122°F. It is powered by a Pulsar APS5 Li-ion battery that has an 11 hour battery life per charge.

Hot White Color Palette

The most commonly used color palette is hot white, where the hottest part of the view is the brightest white. This makes it easiest to find a target but may obscure colder surrounding objects.

The hot red palette shows brighter for higher temperatures but keeps all the colors in the red family. This does less to disturb your eye's ability to see in the dark naturally.

The sepia color palette is the most restful on the eyes as the screen brightness is lower. It is recommended for longer duration viewing.

The rainbow color palette is used to give more differentiation between various temperatures in the image. The rainbow palette has brighter colors for cool temperatures and deeper colors for higher temperatures. It is good for finding hot spots in electrical equipment, and might work well for locating owls in trees.

The ultramarine color palette is also used to give more differentiation between various temperatures in the image. The ultramarine palette has brighter colors for warmer temperatures and deeper colors for lower temperatures. Also good for finding hot spots.

The violet color palette helps to identify objects faster. You can see that in this palette the outline of the animal is very well defined, but so are the facial features. The darker background makes the animal stand out.
