The Kowa TSN-88A 25-60x88 PROMINAR Angled Spotting Scope Set adopts the technology of the TSN-99A scope. A full magnesium alloy body replaces the hybrid magnesium/aluminum bodies of the 880s. The body is also shorter, reducing the weight of the scope by a couple of ounces. No longer is the filter thread at the distal end of the lens hood: it now resides right in front of the objective lens so it is shaded from direct light improving glare reduction. An additional screw hole in the mounting foot allows for multi-screw QR plate eliminating the possibility of the scope twisting on a single mount screw.
Optically, there is an additional multi-coated and KR coated convex lens in front of the fluorite crystal convex lens. This system of lenses and upgraded lens coatings results in improved light transmission across the entire visible spectrum for the most natural colors ever in a Kowa spotting scope. The TSN-88S Zoom Set includes the TE-11WZ II Eyepiece.
Also included in the set is an optional aiming sight. The sight fits around the lens mount and is held on by the accessory collar or any of the other accessories that use these threads.
