XLNT Birding binoculars
I have owned these binoculars for a month and birded many hours since receiving them. WOW!
The glass is bright, sharp and contrasty without being over the top like some HD models that I tried. CA is perfectly controlled and they are sharp almost to the edges. Baffling is really well controlled making it easy to find birds when near the light source. Color appears to be neutral.
Built like a tank to take the punishment they will endure. They are heavier than many other binoculars but the weight is not an issue as they are so well balanced even in my smaller hands. Focus is crisp and easy. Only a quarter turn of the large well placed focus wheel keeps everything in focus for much of my birding day. The close focus ( about 7 feet) requires another full turn. The armor coating is grippy and gives excellent protection to the binos. The eye cups click to solidly hold 3 different positions. I made and then added an eye-hood to keep stray light from entering around the outside edge of the cups which seem excessively large. Works great!
I love the extra magnification that I get with the 8.5X. even tho it's at a loss of FOV.
It took me a little time to get use to the global effect of the glass but am now so happy with this purchase and must thank Optics4birding for such amazing customer service while helping me choose the correct optics for me.
