  • Valid only on products purchased from authorized Leica dealers in USA or Canada*

10 Year Passport Protection Plan

For a period of 10 years we will repair or replace your Leica Sport Optic product purchased from an Authorized USA and Canadian dealer in the event it becomes damaged or defective, at no charge to you. If we cannot repair your product, we will replace it with a product in perfect working order of equal or better physical condition. It doesn’t matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it in the USA or Canada.

Please note that our Passport Protection Plan excludes coverage for intentional damage, misuse, cosmetic damage that does not affect the performance of the optic, fire, loss, theft, or unauthorized repair or modification.

This Passport Protection Plan is void, if damage is caused by the use of accessories not sold or authorized by Leica Camera Inc. or from service by persons not authorized by Leica Camera Inc. It will be at Leica Camera Inc.’s sole discretion to extend service under this Warranty for damage arising from the above-mentioned conditions.

30 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty

Beyond the 10-year Passport Protection, Leica Sport Optics offers a 30-year warranty on the optical system of our products for products purchased in the USA and Canada from an authorized Leica Camera Inc. North American dealer. Once examined, if it is determined that the optical system is defective, we will repair or replace the instrument or defective part. All non-optical products (i.e. accessories) are warranted for two years from date of purchase. This warranty is void if damage results from unauthorized repairs, accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, neglect, fire, flood or other force majeure.

Any Leica Sport Optic product that is purchased in the USA or Canada that is not imported by Leica Camera Inc. and not sold to a consumer by an Authorized U.S. or Canadian Leica Camera Inc. North America Dealer has no Authorized Warranty.

In the event of a defect, please call customer assistance at 1 (800) 222-0118 to obtain a Service Order Number (SO), which will be used to identify your warranty request through its completion. When you call, our customer care representative will give you instructions as to where to send or take the product for service. Whenever you send or deliver your product to us, please enclose your name, shipping address, daytime phone number, and a brief description of the problem. Please write the Service Order Number on the enclosure and on the outside of any packaging. We will determine, at our option, whether to repair or replace the instrument. If the instrument is not covered under the warranty; we will contact you with an estimate of the repair price.

Please note that our Passport Warranty excludes any integrated rechargeable batteries (i.e., Calonox). Battery life is a function of usage and charging frequency.

Integrated rechargeable batteries have a Limited 5-Year Warranty. We believe that this is ample to provide coverage for regular product usage and is not indicative of what a user should expect from this product.

*If you intend to purchase a used Leica product and wish to confirm it was originally purchased via an authorized Leica dealer in the USA or Canada, please contact us and provide us with the serial number, and we will be happy to check it for you.

Leica’s got the SCHOTT HT

Outstanding Optical Performance
Reliable and Durable Mechanics
  • Now featuring the SCHOTT HT (high- transmission) glass lenses with 92+% light transmission found in top end Zeiss binoculars for amazing image brightness and clarity.

  • Leica’s full HDC multi-coating on all of the lens elements offer further light transmission for amazing image clarity, brightness, and contrast in low-light settings.

  • P40 Phase-Corrective coatings on the prisms and the HLS anti-reflective (dielectric system) to ensure the absolute minimum impact of stray light and chromatic aberration for an absolutely perfect, clear image.

  • AquaDura lens coatings cause water to ball up and roll off the optical systems for clear vision in tough weather while also protecting the lenses from scratches and abrasions.

  • Great Field of View with 389 ft. @ 1000 yds.

  • Nitrogen filled to prevent fogging

  • 100% Waterproof
  • Doublewide Focus Knob rivals competitors with 1.3 turns to switch from close focus to maximum observation distance. The large center focusing mechanism removes strain on the finger and improves balance for the fastest focus.

  • Intuitively placed Diopter Ring in the front center for easy access and quick adjustment of individual compensation between left and right eyes as well as a visual scale setting on the front face of the Diopter so you never lose focus.

  • Shock Absorbent armoring made from high performance Polyamide for robustness and low weight protects the binoculars against damage.

  • Easy handling twist-out lockable eyecup design with 2 precise positioning click stops.

  • Ultra-light die-cast Magnesium body offering remarkably low weight at 26.8 oz allowing less strain for greater balance, maximum durability, and comfort while thumb rests on the underside of the binocular provide maximum grip during observation.

In Depth Features:

schott

Schott HT Glass lenses – is an innovative optical design standing for ‘High Transmission’ lenses by SCHOTT, a sister company of Zeiss and represents light transmission capability that were previously unheard of - reaching up to 95% of light gathering power. It was developed to ensure that critical details can still be seen even in the deepest twilight. Leica has adopted this technology for maximum image sharpness and color correction in conjunction with their advanced P40 Phase-Corrective and the HLS anti-reflective (dielectric system) coatings on the prism to ensure the absolute minimum impact of stray light and chromatic aberration for an absolutely perfect, clear image.

Multi-coatings

Multi-Layer Lens Coatings: This basically means that the lenses have received multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces which increase light transmission to produce a brighter image and therefore better low light performance. Anti-reflective coatings can make a really big difference on the brightness of the image produced. It is not unusual to look through binoculars with smaller objective lenses, but with higher quality anti-reflection coatings and seen them outperform binoculars with much larger objective lenses, but with fewer or no coatings. The diagram above shows how these coatings improve the transmission of light.

phase

Phase Correction: Phase correction is a set of coatings on the prism glass of roof prism binoculars that keeps light in correct color phases. These coatings are only needed on roof prism binoculars to enhance resolution, contrast, and color fidelity. The top half of this image shows the benefits of phase correction.

aquadura

Leica AquaDura Lens Coating: That is the water repelling characteristic of surfaces to simply let water drops pearl off and to repel dirt. Leica’s AquaDura coating does just that and in conjunction with the HDC coating, the lens surfaces become extremely resistant to abrasion and other environmental influences and also making cleaning and care especially easy.

focus

Focus Mechanisms Re-Defined: Leica’s Ultravid HD series focus mechanisms have been further refined for an even smoother, faster operation. Typical focus mechanisms use grease or lubricant where in higher temperatures, they move too freely or even escape the mechanism causing damage, and at low temperatures they can feel sticky making for ‘jumpy’ difficult focusing. Leica’s optimized, gliding focus disks use paired materials that work without lubricants so even in extreme temperatures, they remain fully functional and maintain a consistent smoothness of touch so that your Ultravids can be used in any climate and maintain their high-performance.
