The Pulsar Helion XQ50F 4.1-16.4x42 Thermal Monocular provides the maximum range for human-sized detection, reaching up to 2,000 yards, thanks to the 42mm objective lens. The larger lens also allows for increased magnification, with 4.1x and 2x or 4x digital picture-in-picture zoom. The 384x288 px sensor delivers the image to a 640x480 AMOLED screen with 8 color viewing modes and three different scene viewing modes (rock, forest, and identification). Pulsar's Stream Vision app connects the scope to smart devices for sharing the view in real time or storage for later viewing. Helions also include IRIS technology software for increased recognition and detection. Rangefinding is possible with a stadiametric rangefinder.

Hot White Color Palette

The most commonly used color palette is hot white, where the hottest part of the view is the brightest white. This makes it easiest to find a target but may obscure colder surrounding objects.

When seeing the terrain is as important as seeing the target, switching to hot black will show you the most detail in your surroundings. Notice how the bark of the trees and the blades of grass are easy to see.

The rainbow palette has brighter colors for cool temperatures and deeper colors for higher temperatures. It is good for finding hot spots in electrical equipment, and might work well for locating owls in trees.

The ultramarine color palette is also used to give more differentiation between various temperatures in the image. The ultramarine palette has brighter colors for warmer temperatures and deeper colors for lower temperatures. Also good for finding hot spots.

The violet color palette helps to identify objects faster. You can see that in this palette the outline of the animal is very well defined, but so are the facial features. The darker background makes the animal stand out.
