The Opticron MM4 15-45x60 GA ED SDLv3 Straight Travelscope replaces the SDL v2 eyepiece with the SDL v3. This substitution results in a scope that is more waterproof and delivers a wider field of view. Optically, the MM4 ED body paired with the SDL v3 eyepiece yields crisp, clear, sharp views thanks to Extra-low Dispersion glass and fully multi-coated optical system. The Travelscope is rubber armored and waterproof and nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging. Opticron Travelscopes are designed with a lightweight polycarbonate and alloy body weighing only 34.6 ounces. Opticron MM scope bodies are one of the only small scopes to have a mount collar that allows the eyepiece to be rotated ±90° to accommodate different viewing positions without changing where the scope is aimed. Unlike many scopes currently on the market, the MM4 scopes have a dual focus knob, giving both fast and fine focus in a 9:1 speed ratio.

Outstanding scope

I recently purchased this scope, and I am glad I did. It’s light weight and so easy to carry into the field. It produces bright, razor sharp images with very little chromatic aberration at the edge of the field. I was able to make out very minute field marks on some shore birds at over 100 yards. I’m looking forward to using it on an extended upcoming birding trip.
