The Opticron MM4 12-36x50 SDLv3 GA ED Straight Travelscope Kit features the upgraded SDLv3 eyepiece which is now waterproof. The MM4 50mm straight body is an excellent mid-priced small spotting scope for travel or anyone who will be hiking long distances with a scope. In addition to the Extra low Dispersion glass objective lens which delivers a sharp, vibrant image with very little chromatic aberration, the 50mm MM4 is the only body at this writing that has the ability to rotate along its major axis. While not as critical as with an angled body, this capability allows repositioning of the eyepiece without losing the place the scope is aimed. The SDL v3 eyepiece delivers a wide field of view and has 20 - 18 mm of eye relief as you zoom from 12x to 36x. Focusing ranges from infinity down to 8.2' and is controlled precisely by the 9:1 dual focus knobs. Both the body and the eyepiece are waterproof and nitrogen purged. The body is constructed of polycarbonate and alloy materials, keeping the weight to 31 ounces.
