The Nikon 20x120 IV Binocular Telescope w/Fork Mount are intended to be mounted using an optional pillar stand on a ship's deck, an observation platform, or bolted to a railing. The fork mount allows for 360° horizontal scanning and -30° to +70° vertical aiming. The 120mm objective lenses deliver amazingly bright images, excellent for low light or astronomical viewing. The binocular view provides 3-D vision and reduces eye fatigue compared to a spotting scope or telescope. The 20x120-IV employs high quality optics to virtually eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations, again reducing eye fatigue and resulting in extremely crisp, flat field images.
The Nikon 20x120 IV Binocular Telescope's proprietary optics have Nikon's special multi-coatings, along with the other lens surfaces throughout the binocular. The eyepieces focus individually with a close focus of 689' and have wrap-around winged eyecups to eliminate side light for better contrast. The optical system includes glass and coatings that greatly reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations. The wide apparent field of view is 55.3° and has a very flat field of focus.
