The trade-offs are an extra 8 ounces, a longer body, a narrower FOV (304' at 1000 yards), and a significantly longer close focus of 11.4'. The Leupold BX-5 Santiam 10x50 features all the other attributes of the series, with their Twilight Max HD Light Management System, water- and fog-proofing, DiamondCoat 2 and Guard-Ion exterior lens coatings for scratch resistance and water shedding properties respectively. The open bridge chassis is rubber armored with a positive grip.
