It features their Prominar XD eXtra-low Dispersion pure fluorite crystal objectives, giving it unsurpassed light throughput and incredibly bright images. Housed in a magnesium frame for lighter weight and greater durability, the TSN-883 body weighs 56 ounces and is a compact 13.5 inches long. TSN-883 scopes feature a dual focus knob system for easy, precise focusing and a locking eyepiece mount for greater security. Kowa TSN-883 scopes are completely waterproof and nitrogen-purged to be internally fog-proof. We worked with Pete at O4B as we did our research on a scope purchase. We wanted something that would last us for years and be as premier as we could afford. The 883 if fitting that bill wonderfully. Pete was extremely helpful talking through scope options. The Kowa 883 is wonderfully light and easy to use. Coupled it with a Celestron xYZ with great results already. And we love the bundle...the waterproof cover works great for our wet NW days of watching wildlife.
