The Vanguard Endeavor ED 10x42 binocular is made with Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass for enhanced light transmission, better color fidelity and sharper image quality. Vanguard Endeavor ED are phase-coated roof prism binoculars made with BaK-4 glass prisms. To this, Vanguard adds full multi-coating to all air-glass surfaces to maximize light throughput, and a silver coating to provide greater sharpness and image vividness. The 10x42 Endeavor ED is a full-sized binocular, weighing just 25 ounces, but still delivering an impressive 343-foot field of view at 1000 yards and a 8.2-foot minimum close focus. All Vanguard Endeavor ED binoculars are o-ring sealed and nitrogen-purged to be completely waterproof and internally fog-proof. The open bridge design, 3-position adjustable eyecups and 16.5 mm of eye relief ensure that the Vanguard 10x42 Endeavor ED binocular is comfortable for any user. Vanguard Endeavor ED binoculars come with a padded carrying case and a strap.

Excellent ‘price-performance’ ED optics

Outstanding Optical Performance
Redesigned Ergonomics
  • Premium Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass delivering outstanding sharpness, contrast and color accuracy.

  • Phase-Corrective and Multi-Layer Anti-Reflective prism coatings on a BaK-4 prism increases light transmission, brightness, contrast, and color fidelity

  • Exceptional Field of View ranging 343ft. @ 1000 yds. rivaling other models in this range.

  • Decent Close-Focus at 8.2ft.

2013 Award Winner of 'Best value for your money'!
  • Good Eye-Relief at 16.5mm for eyeglass wearers so you never have to struggle to see your target through the lenses.

  • Lockable Diopter, unlike some models where you can easily knock one barrel out of focus.

  • A reliable rubber armored housing with a nicely textured grip and thumb indents under each barrel for a nice secured feeling while holding all in all helping to prevent damage from minor impacts.

  • The finely textured Focus Wheel takes ¾ of a turn to go from close focus to infinity, this is a highly aggressive and ultra fast mechanism which can be extremely useful for those times when a target pops up and you need to quickly identify it.

  • Nitrogen filled to prevent fogging.
  • 100% Waterproof

In Depth Features:

ED glass: The Vanguard ED series bring about a remarkably sharp resolution and contrast-rich image thanks to their Extra-low Dispersion Glass or ED Glass for short. It is used in the finest optics and used by professionals who require the details in an image to be clear and bright. The ED Glass reduces ‘color-fringing’ thanks to its ability to keep differing wavelengths of light together which also increases the resolution of the image so that all details are bright, and color-accurate as in the image above.

Multi-Layer Lens Coatings: This basically means that the lenses have received multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces which increase light transmission to produce a brighter image and therefore better low light performance. Anti-reflective coatings can make a really big difference on the brightness of the image produced. It is not unusual to look through binoculars with smaller objective lenses, but with higher quality anti-reflection coatings and seen them outperform binoculars with much larger objective lenses, but with fewer or no coatings. The diagram above shows how these coatings improve the transmission of light.
