XD Lenses and KR coating
With 4 KR-coated Prominar XD lenses, the Kowa Genesis 10x22 PROMINAR XD Binoculars make chromatic aberration virtually unnoticeable and the lenses stay clean even in unforgiving environments.
Even oils and fingerprints can be easily removed from the lenses with proper cleaning technique.
Schmidt-Pechan prism and coatings
The roof prism barrels contain Schimdt-Pechan prisms that are treated with Kowa's reflective C3 and phase-corrective coatings. A natural shortcoming of the Pechan prism is its inability to give total reflection, but this is completely made up for with the C3 coating that gives 99% or high reflectance. The C3-coated Pechan prism is cemented with a phase-corrected Schmidt prism, resulting in an outstanding Schimdt-Pechan prism that gives maximal light transmission, a huge factor that determines image quality.
Magnesium Alloy Body
An ergonomic magnesium alloy body protects the valuable optics from being damaged when dropped. This highly durable metal alloy is also very lightweight, providing the user with a pair of binoculars that is easy to handle and hard to damage.
Waterproof Structure Filled with Dry Nitrogen Gas
The Kowa Genesis 10x22 PROMINAR XD Binoculars' housing is completely waterproof and purged with nitrogen gas to absorb any moisture in the optics that could cause fogging. Anyone can enjoy a pair of binoculars that are protected from water, fogging, and dropping damage, aside from being light and a breeze to carry.
