| This is a Mottled Owl. It is a mid-sized owl, similiar in size with the Black-and-white and Striped Owls. It is fairly common throughout Mexico and Central America. We usually find them at some point in our owling excursions. Maybe the best way to describe this owl is that he is a really agressive hunter. He is closely related to our Spotted Owl but has a much greater tolerance in habitat and variety of food selection. |
